Emergency Shopping Trip

Cadence was brought back to earth by a hand waving in her face, she turned, to see her close friend Colton standing in front of her.

"Yes?"

Cadence asked, her friends were supposed to be calming down and getting ready for bed, but judging by the sounds coming from the kitchen it wasn't working.

"Were out of chips AND instant noodles."

Colton said this as if it was the end of the world or something just as important.

"I'll pick some more up tomorrow."

Cadence turned back to the spot on the wall, where she had zoned out, just minutes before.

"No, we're going now."

Colton grabbed Cadence's hand and pulled her up.

Colton led her into the kitchen, where the other two members of team R.I.S.K was making a mess and trying to outdo the other in an eating contest, or that was what it looked like to Cadence.

"Yo ankle biters were going shopping!"

Colton yelled as he grabbed the keys to his car, and then raced out of the kitchen towards the front door.

Cadence froze and listened for any signs of her family waking up from her friend's yell, but the house stayed silent.

Well Her two friends also froze but only for a second before they both made a quick dash towards the front door, probably to get shotgun before the other.

Cadence sighed but followed after her friends, as she expected Terrance had won and then decided to lock the doors, Trish was yelling at him, well Colton was trying to open the driver's door, apparently, he hadn't noticed it locking.

cadence glanced at her watch and noticed for the first time that it was one in the morning, no wonder her friends were acting so strange, wait no these were her friends, they always acted like this.

That being said she walked over to Colton and took the keys.

"You are way too sleep-deprived to be driving, into the back with you."

Cadence then turned to Terrance and simply gestured for him to unlock the doors, it took him a moment, but eventually, he did as he was told and unlocked the door.

Trish and Colton climbed into the back, Colton was a lot happier than Trish.

"Ok, buckle up."

Cadence reminded her friends, as she turned on the engine.

She glanced up and noticed Trish and Colton had done as ordered but, once again Terrance hadn't.

"That goes for you too."

Terrance raised an eyebrow in a questioning manner.

"Because it's the law, and if Logon pulls us over I don't want to explain to him why you don't have a seat belt on."

This seemed to convince Terrance as he buckled up.

Cadence turned back to the driveway in front of her and asked herself why she kept ending up in situations like this.

But she decided to just get it over with and drove up onto the road.

It didn't take long for them to reach the store, and even before Cadence had turned off the engine her friends were climbing out of the car.

"What are we doing here?"

Trish finally asked.

"You and shorty ate all my chips and instant noodles."

Terrance shot Colton a glare, but Colton either didn't notice or didn't care.

"I'm sorry, Your noodles?"

Cadence asked.

"Yes, I helped shop for them, therefore they are mine."

Cadence decided not to argue with him and instead led her friends into the store.

Cadence walked past the baskets but stopped once noticed her friends hadn't.

"What are you doing? we don't need a basket."

"Sure we do."

Cadence rolled her eyes but didn't see any point in arguing with all of them, so she grabbed one of the big baskets and started off again.

But was stopped once again, this time by Trish.

"Can I ride?"

"No."

"Please."

"No."

"Come on Cj let her ride."

Colton joined in.

"And if she gets hurts?"

"Then you're a bad driver."

Cadence wasn't happy with this answer but had already lost, judging by the fact that Trish had taken a seat in the basket already.

"Fine but keep your limbs inside the basket at all times."

Trish nodded happily like a kid before cadence started pushing the basket towards the chip ally.

All in all, it took them half an hour to finished shopping, everyone kept remembering something they needed and would disappear for a minute or two, before showing up and tossing something into the basket.

Trish was almost buried under all the stuff, but to be fair her energy drinks were taking up the most space.

Colton's instant noodles were next.

Cadence pushed the cart into one of the checkout lines and started unloading.

The cashier gave them a strange look but started to scan the items.

"Have we met?"

She asked after only a few minutes, the group froze besides Cadence who had gotten way too use to this question.

"Probably not."

She nodded and went back to scanning the many items.

"So how are you enjoying town so far?"

Cadence asked the cashier looked at her in surprise.

"How did you know I was new in town?"

"Lucky guess."

The cashier still confused scanned the last item.

"Your total comes to 75.35."

Trish reached behind her and handed her credit card to the cashier.

"do you want help out?"

"No, we got it."

Colton said as he and Terrance grabbed most of the bags, Trish sadly climbed out of the cart and helped Cadence grab the last.

"Thanks for shopping at Best Store."

The four of them made their way back to the car, thankfully Trish and Terrance were too tired to fight over who got to sit shotgun, so Trish got the front seat this time.

With the groceries in the back and everyone buckled up, Cadence started the car and headed back home.

It was 2:30 when they got back to the house.

Everyone dropped the gabs onto the floor of the kitchen before collapsing in the living room.

Colton was asleep in minutes, and the others followed suit.

Cadence, on the other hand, headed upstairs, happy she had her own bed and didn't have to sleep on a couch or the floor.
